How to get a multiple entry visa to Vietnam for longer than 3 months

I visit often to Vietnam on business and would like to have a Vietnam visa that lasts longer than 3 months. Is this possible?

According to the regulation of Vietnam Immigration, foreigners wishing to enter Vietnam for tourist or business purpose have to apply for Vietnam visa before departure.

In getting Vietnam visa, basing on the time and frequency to Vietnam, applicants can apply for four types of visa to enter and exit Viet Nam: 1 month single, 1 month multiple, 3 month single or 3 month multiple entry visa. Vietnam Immigration policy regulated that foreigners to Vietnam can get visa with the validity length of 3 months at the maximum.

In your case, you cannot apply for a multiple entry visa that lasts longer than 3 months. However, if you want to stay in Vietnam longer than 3 months, we suggest two ways for you:

The first way is extending visa. After the three month period, you can extend the visa to 1 or three months more to stay longer in Vietnam (you will not have to leave the country after three months). In this case, visa extension is recommended.

Another way, if you plane exit Vietnam before your 3 month visa is expired, and then come back the country, you should apply for new 3 month visa when you re-enter Vietnam. This is the economic and convenient way that helps you save time. Besides, the cost of visa extension is more expensive, moreover the procedure is also more complicated.
