Vietnam suspends 15-day visa exemption and tourist visa for citizens of 8 countries in Europe

Up to March 13th 2020, the situation of Coronavirus disease continue developing complication in Europe, especially in France, Italy, Germany, and United Kingdom. Therefore, Vietnam Government suspends 15-day visa exemption and tourist visa for citizens of 8 countries in Europe including: Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden, United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Spain.

Previously, Vietnam Immigration Department has suspended 15-day visa exemption for citizens of South Korea, Italy and France. However, due to the severity of the disease in Europe with 1.231  confirmed cases of Corona virus in Spain, 1.224 confirmed cases in Germany and 456 confirmed cases of the virus in United Kingdom up to March 10th 2020, Vietnam Government has suspended 15-day visa exemption and tourist visa for citizens of 8 countries in the unilateral visa exmption list in Europe. The Directive has been applied since March 12th 2020 until there is a new updated notification of Vietnam Government.

According to the updated regulation, citizens in Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden, United Kingdom, Germany, France, or Spain should postpone your schedule if you have a plan to visit Vietnam to prevent the outbreak of Coronavirus disease (SARS-CoV-2) and to protect your own health.

For foreign visitors who are residing in one of the eight countries, Vietnam visa is still applicable with a few steps as below:

-       Complete a visa application online at https://evietnamvisa.com/apply.html

-       Pay visa approval fee

-       Receive Vietnam visa approval letter after 2 business days at maximum

-       Get Vietnam visa stamped upon arrival Vietnam airport

However, visitors coming from Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden, United Kingdom, Germany, France, or Spain will be required to have a medical isolation because you fly from the disease area. In case, if you have a fever and cough, you may be rejected to enter Vietnam. Therefore, each visitors should notice to arrange a suitable plan for your trip.
