In the working session of the Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam with the representative of World Health Organization (WHO) and U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the representative of WHO has highly praised Vietnam’s capacity in dealing with public health emergencies, including the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The latest information from the WHO in Vietnam’s note “COVID-19: Here is what we know so far” acknowledged that Vietnam has so far been managing the COVID-19 outbreak “very well”. WHO also said: “We call this country preparedness, and such preparedness has been tried and tested by real-time events in Viet Nam, and now by COVID-19”. Meanwhile, Mr. Mathew Moore from CDC, hailed the Vietnamese Government’s quick, firm and effective actions against COVID-19. In addition, The US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on February 27 also decided to remove Vietnam from the list of destinations vulnerable to community transmission of SARS-CoV-2.
