How to get Vietnam visa for citizens of African countries

There are 2 ways for citizens of the countries in African continent to apply for Vietnam visa: applying at Vietnam Embassy or applying online. This article provides briefly what information is needed for those people when getting a Vietnam visa.

1. Applying for Vietnam visa at Vietnam Embassy

You should contact in person with Vietnam Embassy in the country you are staying to ask for sure that your visa request will be processed. Then, if can, they will tell you about the procedure and required documents for the process. Kindly remember to bring your original passport along as it is really convenient for the checking.

Normally, Embassy of Vietnam only issue visa for citizens in countries of African continent provided that they obtained a pre-approved visa by Immigration Department of Vietnam beforehand

2. Applying for Vietnam visa online

• Step 1: Submit visa application online
• Step 2: Make payment for the approval fee by using one of payment methods
• Step 3: Get the pre-approved visa granted by Immigration Department of Vietnam and print it out to get visa on arrival at airport in Vietnam

3. The visa price for citizens of African countries

The approval fee depends on which type of visa you apply and whether you have a guarantee from a Vietnam company or not.

In case of guarantee, the approval fee ranges from USD 150/pax (visa 1 month single) to USD 200/pax (visa 1 month multiple, visa 3 months single/multiple). If a Vietnam company guarantees you, please tell the company to contact us via email or hotline in order to be guided in filling out the guarantee form for you.

In case of non-guarantee, our agent will make guarantee for you. The approval fee ranges from USD 240/pax (visa 1 month single) to USD 290/pax (visa 1 month multiple/visa 3 months single/multiple).

4. How long does it takes?

The normal processing time of visa for citizens of African countries is 3 working days except Saturday and Sunday. After receiving the completed visa application, we will process the visa and send you an email confirming the date of delivery as well as guidance for preparation of stamping visa on arrival.
